Opinions on the Gauntlet

I'm not sure if any other martial art does this but in BJJ there are some schools that do Gauntlets to celebrate a belt promotion. A gauntlet, for anyone who may not know, is when a person walks through two lines of people (the people are lined up on either side of the person who is walking) and they slap the person with their belt. <br /> <br /> My opinion is that I don't like them. I think they are silly. Those who like them say they are great for team building but it is my opinion that there are some people who take them too far and thus endanger any team building. I prefer to celebrate promotions with a good shark tank. Which is where you are forced to roll with everyone in the room.
